After Eva Bowman’s husband suffered a series of strokes that left him permanently disabled, Eva decided it was time to start her own business to provide for her family. Despite being a passionate sales person with strong insurance industry experience, she was unable to obtain traditional bank financing for her start-up, an insurance and financial planning agency.
When she began looking for other sources of capital, Eva connected to MoFi via the U.S. Small Business Administration’s LenderMatch program. MoFi recognized that Eva had the natural tools and skills to build a successful business, she merely lacked capital. We provided her a loan, and also provided assistance with creating financial projections as she grew her business.
Since receiving financing, Eva has hired three employees, including two bilingual staff members, to better provide services to the local Hispanic community in the Treasure Valley. Based in Caldwell, Idaho, where one-third of the residents are Hispanic or Latino, Eva’s business is providing bilingual access to insurance products for the whole community.
